Terminal Units
Medical terminal units are critical components in healthcare facilities that ensure the delivery of medical gases and utilities to patient care areas. These units are typically installed in various locations such as walls, bedhead trunking systems, headwalls, and fixed pendants.
Terminal units are Class IIb medical devices with the CE mark, built to comply with European Directive 93/42/EC governing medical devices to ensure non-interchangeability among different gasses.
- Walls: Terminal units can be mounted directly on walls for easy access.
- Bedhead Trunking: A system of conduits running horizontally along the wall near the head of a bed, often incorporating electrical outlets, data ports, and medical gas outlets.
- Headwalls: Vertical or horizontal units located at the head of the patient’s bed, integrating multiple services in one place.
- Fixed Pendants: Ceiling-mounted units that can be moved around the patient’s bed, providing flexible access to medical gases and utilities.
